Response Cards

There are 60 days until the wedding and the response cards are coming in! The first two in are from the Margolis', my boss and his wife and Jessica and Patrick, Tim's step sister and her fiance. I am gearing up for my shower this weekend by fixing up the yard, getting the food ready and making sure the dogs are clean! We are having a tea party Saturday, May 7.

The Invitaions are Shipped

Tim and I assembled the invitations without a hitch! It was a long process with addressing the inner envelopes and attaching postage, addressing the outer envelopes, attaching the belly bands and sealing them all with a red seal engraved with an "S." Then we had to weigh them and get proper postage for the outer envelopes.

The came out beautifully and I just love them! I hope you love them too!

We received our first gift!

After I was able to get Famous under control from wanting to eat the UPS driver, I realized it was a our first registry gift from Bed, Bath and Beyond! I was super stoked but I managed to contain myself and wait for Tim to get home from the shop so we could open the first one together.

Invitations are In!

We got all the inviations in the mail this week!! But what an order it was getting them. First the post office lost the package and it was sent with signature delivery so it wouldn't get lost. Except our stupid mail man (who hates us anyway cuz Famous wants to eat him) didn't leave a note saying go to the post office to pick them up. Then when he got back to the post office with the box he just set it aside instead of scanning in. So I took the inicitive and called the post office to find them and after a bit of searching, a gal at the post office found the box and was very apologetic.

So I drive over to get the box, picked it up and the whole bottom side was ripped open. I haven't counted to see if all the invites are there yet, but it looks like they are. Good thing the girl who made them packaged them nicely inside with lots of bubble wrap. But man, I tell ya! What an ordeal!

I will be addressing them and getting them out within a week. Look for them in the mail! They are gorgeous and I love them!

Finalized the Wedding Site details

Today Tim and I went to the museum to finalize all the details of the wedding, like the linens, chairs, lighting, etc. We got there and the gal was held up with another client and they offered to buy us lunch. We said sure why not! We had wonderful lunch on the patio over looking the ocean, it was a gorgeous day to do so. I had a blackened salmon salad with pears, strawberries and mangos and Tim had a very large Kobe burger!

Sweet Traders

We went cake tasting once more at a small business in Huntington Beach called Sweet Traders. A lady owns it and she is the chef as well as the business woman. She is married with two boys but her husband works with computers and helps out when needed.

Turns out she has great prices and were able to try different fillings with different cakes and mix and match. So we tried the following:

Cakes:
White Chocolate Cake
Devils Food
Lemon Cake
Red Velvet Cake

Fillings:
Choc Ganache
Raspberry Chocolate Ganache
Vanilla Bavarian Cream
Raspberry Cream
Cream Cheese Buttercream

Can you take a guess at what we decided on??

If you like our cake at the wedding, here's the info

Its nice to finally have decided on which hotel to choose for the wedding block. The Westin has been more than accommodating! Rooms start at $139, so that's great! To book a room go to our Guest Information Page

I have also put the deposit down on the invitations, which are so cool! I love them, wait until you see them. Once they are mailed, I will post a picture. I found them on Etsy.com, the most creative site ever! I freakin love it!

Dress Fitting

I had my first dress fitting on Saturday which was very fun! It was just my mom and I and she may have even found her MOB (mother of the bride) dress!

The dress fit perfectly in the bodice and we are just taking up the bottom a bit. I tried to find tall heels, guess 4 1/2 inch still isn't tall enough!

I love it, it's so pretty!

Wedding Bands

Today Tim and I went to Oceanside for the day to pick out our wedding bands. It was a belated Valentines Day gift to each other. It was an awesome day with family and friends!

First, we went into Diamonds where Tim bought my engagement ring and picked out his band and ordered my band to match my engagement ring. He is super stoked on his! I wont get to see mine for a few weeks until its done.

Next we had lunch with Tim's mom in Encinitas at a great mexican restaurant called Banditas I believe. It was great!

Then we went to check out a place that makes skateboards that we are planning on ordering our shop decks from. So that was exciting too. Our very own Long Beach Skate shop decks for the year anniversary on May 1.

Tim and I then went to Oceanside to walk on the pier and get in a little walking on what was a gorgeous sunset!

Finally we went to Chris' sushi restaurant where he now works as a sushi chef and let me tell you, Tim and I ate like Kings! Chris hooked it up! Thank you! Thank you! It was amazing!
